The one issue relevant to all companies today is change. It is an ongoing process that often occurs whether the company wishes to or not. Change can be a great motivator, a time of excitement, a time of growth. To many employees, from management to the shop floor, it is often highly stressful, leading to a lack of effectiveness and therefore an ensuing lack of results.

The Tilbury Group’s change management process is based on first assessing what type of change is taking place. Is it rapid growth? Then a certain approach is needed. Is it the fact that the company is making the transition from being part of a large group to being a self supporting business in it’s own right? A different approach is required. One aspect remains constant. People need to be prepared for the change, they need to be handled as individuals, some nurtured, some managed, some challenged, but above all, they want to have their individual needs acknowledged.

The Tilbury Group approach addresses change from this point of view. By profiling each person to ascertain their preferred behavioral tendencies, one-on-one meetings are held to help them understand how they may feel as the change occurs and how they will best fit in and contribute to the emerging company future. The object of this approach is to ensure that they feel an integral part of the changes occurring, can take responsibility for their part in them as a required player in the companies future game. It can also identify those who are not suitable for the new challenges ahead, allowing company management to make considered decisions based on a humane process.

The end result? A committed team of individuals moving forward with enhanced self-esteem and great faith in a senior management team who considered their feelings. This places the company in a position to go forward and achieve the results it desires.
